The United States Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776. In this historic document, the thirteen American colonies claimed that they were no longer subject to rule by Great Britain and had formed a new nation – the United States of America.

As we have mentioned here before, since Chance Browne and I both live in Wilton, Connecticut, we occasionally use it as the setting for some of the scenes in Hi and Lois. To draw the overhead view in the drop panel, Chance climbed to the roof of a building across the street from the Wilton athletic fields where the annual Fourth of July festivities are held.
