Timeline – 1998 Part 1

When I was a teenager back in the 1960s, I used to go out on “dates.” Before I got my driver’s license this usually involved inviting a girl to meet me at a local movie theater or pizza place.  When I started driving, I could pick her up at her house and take her places, like restaurants, dances or parties.

Chip Flagston came of age in the 1960s. He went from making excuses about not finishing his homework to riding his bike to the library to meet his girlfriend. He’s old enough to be curious about the opposite sex but too young to get into serious trouble.

This is another classic episode from one of the prime periods in the 63-year run of Hi and Lois. It is always a breath of fresh air when the Flagstons take a one-day vacation from their routine home life. These excursions also give the creators an opportunity to explore different scenery and situations.
